BQ34Z100-G1: How to enable calibration?

Hello there,

I have the EV2300 connected to my custom BQ34Z100-G1 board through I2C. By using battery management studio 1.3.54.1 I am trying to go through setting the BQ for my battery, The first problem I have stumbled upon is that I cannot figure out how to enable calibration. When I try to calibrate voltage, I get the message "Calibration - A read of data written failed comparison".

I tried setting the CAL_EN flag but that did not help:

I would appreciate all help regarding this issue. Also is there anything else I need to know before setting this gauge?

Hi Lukasz,

Please do not use battery management studio 1.3.54.1 with the bq34z100-g1 when attempting calibration. Please install the latest version called 'BQSTUDIOTEST' from www.ti.com/.../bqstudio

Please make sure either install the new version into a new directory, or completely remove the old version fo bqstudio. The BQZ file for the bq34z100-g1 that ships with 1.3.54.1 may cause issues with calibration.

After installing the new version, please load as normal and use the 'Calibration' Tab to calibrate your device.

Hello,
Thank you for answer. Is there any explanation available for when to use which tool? I thought the "test" version was for simulation purposes when the target is not available... What is the exact conversion here?

Could you tell me either there is a really comprehensive guide that tells what exactly to do at which step in order to configure the whole device for a certain battery? I find the one in datasheet very roughly described.
