TPS2115A: Current limit range

Hi,

Regarding the datasheet the current limit range of the TPS2115A is from 0.63 to 1.25A:

Is it possible to set the current limit to 100mA and what is the behavior of the device if the current limit is not in the recommended range?

    Hi Patrick, 

    Welcome to E2E! Thanks for the question.

    Unfortunately, the current limit cannot be set outside of the current range of the device. The current limit works with an internal charge pump connected to a comparator, so anything lower than the threshold will register as logic 0.

    Can you tell me more about the application? Is the 100mA current limit required only for the active channel? Do you require automatic/manual switchover?

    Hi Arthur,

    Thank you very much for your quick reply.

    I will set the current limit to the minimum. In my application I use the TPS2115A as automatic switch between two power supplies. The 100mA current limit is required only for the active channel.
