WEBENCH® Tools/UCC3895: UCC3895

Part Number: UCC3895

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Dear sir,,

I am working in KB electronics. I have worked on UCC3875 before.we have to develope 2.5kw ADDC convertor using UCC3895.Want to understand  freqency  & delay setting calculation for 100Khz.  Is oscillator freqency double the switching frequency?

pls suggest. Is necessary to use adaptive delay?

Also I have downloded Your power designer software slic015C. How to instal it. It ask path to open Pls suggest.

  • You are correct, the oscillator frequency is double the switching frequency.

Adaptive delay may improve the converter efficiency by reducing body diode conduction times - especially at higher loads. The improvement may or may not be significant - it depends on too many factors external to the controller for us to quantify. What you can do is make a provision for it and check its effect during prototype testing.

I've not used the Power Stage designer so I tried it just now. First it asks for information about you, the user so that we can satisfy some US Government export approvals requirements. I assume you got past this stage successfully. I then simply pressed the 'DOWNLOAD' button and the file downloaded into my downloads folder. The download is a .zip file and you can unzip it with a tool such as WinZip or 7-Zip. My Windows Explorer identified the download simply as a file, it wasn't explicitly identified as a zipped file. Anyhow I unzipped the download file to the downloads folder, (but you could in fact put it anywhere) - then simply open the unzipped folder - you should see two files 'Power stage designer 4.0.exe' and 'Power Stage Designer.jar'. I was able to run the .exe file without any difficulty.

The process should be seamless - just be sure to unzip the download.

    Regards
    Colin
