TPS22953: Unused Power Good for pullup

Guru 19645 points
Part Number: TPS22953

About the case of TPS22953 with unused Power Good function, but customer can only design PG pin pullup by customer issue.

Please let me check about two points below;

①When unused power good connect pullup, can TPS22953 operate?

 I think that problem is large supply current only, but there is no affect to load switch operation in itself.

 If there the other problem, please let me know.

②About the above "other problem", I think as one of possibility is increase current and OCP (or damage).

 If this guess is correct, can pullup resister reduce current by high value resistance(100kΩ)?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

    I am not sure I understand your questions, but let me help to clarify.

    1. If there is an unpowered pullup resistor attached to the PG pin of the device, the device will still function properly. If the PG pin is left floating, it will also allow the device to function properly.

    2. A 100kΩ resistor on the PG pin will not cause any OCP problems.

    Thanks,
