LM5023: LM5023

Part Number: LM5023
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5032, UCC28730, UCC28740, UCC28710, UCC24612, UCC24636, UCC28780

My customer used LM5032 for their design.

But they want to cost down for the peripheral control circuit.

So is their any suggestion design?

The spec. is as below:

1.Vin=320Vdc

2.Vo=12Vdc

3.Io=3.5A

4.Standby power<50mW

  • Kuan,

    Thanks for the interest here. Are you saying the customer wants fewer external components? or is smaller size most important here?

    You may consider looking at controllers with integrated HV startup focused on low system cost. These devices include UCC28710 or UCC28730 if PSR (no-opto ) solution is acceptable or UCC28740 if opto-feedback is preferred. You can use the webench tool online in the product folder of those parts to work through a design or use this reference design as an example: www.ti.com/.../PMP10350

    If PSR is preferred they may use UCC24636 SR controller with the main controller. If SSR(opto feedback) primary controller is preferred, they may also consider UCC24612 SR controller to work with it.

    If they are looking for highest efficiency and smallest solution size, they may also consider looking at UCC28780.

    Regards,
    John
