TPS22810: How to determine max acceptable inrush current

Hi team,

my customer is interested in TPS22810. they can know how to design inrush current in the application note in 10.2.2.3.

For example, 400mA is designed in this section. But why 400mA is used as example?

If customer wants to set inrush current higher than 2A or 3A which is higher than max current, is this possible?

In the other word, how much peak current is acceptable on this IC when inrush happens?

Hi Naoki,

400mA is used as an example, but it is not the maximum allowed inrush current. As a general rule of thumb, it is recommended to keep the inrush current below the maximum values in the datasheet (2-3A in this case).
