TPS562201: Output range

Guru 16770 points
Part Number: TPS562201

Hi

TPS562201 offers output range as 0.76V to 7V.

Why is the upper limit up to 7V?

What is limitation?

Is there any consideration fort the customer to configure the output voltage as 7.5V?

BestRegards

  • hi,

The device uses D-cap structure which is limitation the 7V out. We would like to give you more description after our Chinese New Year Vacation.

  • Hi na,

DCAP2 control is a type of constant on time control. For TPS562201, the max duty is around 80%. There is a min off time for it to limit the max duty. Since it is a constant on time control, the device could only tune off time to adapt to the outside oscillation like load transient. In this case, it is risky to get to max duty use. In this case, we would recommend customer to use this device with less than 70% duty. With some margin and loss on HSFET, for 12Vin, 7Vout is a good max output voltage we recommend. If you have higher Vin, then it is acceptable to set Vout to 7.5V. Thanks!
