TPS25942A: Any issues with changing R_ILIM while device is in operation to change the current limit setpoint?

Part Number: TPS25942A

Hello,

I am considering using TPS25942A, and want the device to start with a 1A current limit, but later change to 3.5A.

Can I put an 88.7 kohm resistor on R_ILIM (1A), and then using a small signal FET like BSS138, switch in an additional 34.8 kohm resistor while TPS25942A is in operation, making the effective R_ILIM = 25 kohm, ILIM = 3.56A?

From reading the datasheet, R_ILIM is tied directly to the analog current limiting circuitry, so changing R_ILIM like this should work. But I wasn't sure if any other functions of the device sampled R_ILIM at startup, and thus wouldn't recognize the new value applied later in operation.

Thanks,

Jonathan
