LM10011: start-up output when 6-Bit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM10011

Hi,

When using in 6bit-mode, can IDAC_OUT at startup only be set to [0d] ~ [15d] in the following table?
If possible, I would like to set it to 53d, but how do I decide the resistance value of Rset in that case?

Best Regards,
Yuto Sakai

  • Hello Yuto,

There are 16 start up codes for the LM10011 as mentioned, that's 0d to 15d. As mentioned in the datasheet, it takes only one VID command transition in either 4-bit or 6-bit mode to change the current to something other than the pre-programmed start-up current. I suggest you follow the datasheet example, setting Vout to the highest value using the feedback resistors and setting Rset to give you the desired start up output voltage.

    Hope this helps?

    David.
  • Hi David-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Can I assume that it is not possible to connect Rset = 200 to 215 kOhm and set an initial value to 53d(for example)?

  • Hello Yuto,

You are correct, the start up values have been limited to 4 bit mode currents shown in Table 2 in the datasheet.  You could select 12d or 13d in 4 bit mode and then use one command to set to 53d.

    Hope this helps?

    David.
