TPS40170: request schematic review

Hi,

One of my customer designed the circuit from the simulated data using TI's TPS40170.

When there is no load, the output voltage is as expected, but when there is a load, the output voltage is lowered.

The design requirements are:

Input power: 8-32V
Output voltage: 6.6V
Output Current: 8A
DC input cable: 22AWG

The output current is about 45W at maximum when IR LED is driven and it is on 20 times per second.

When the IR does not work, it consumes about 500mA.

The test was tested using a cement resistor that consumes about 2.5A toward the output.

    Hi TS,

    Thank you for sharing the customer schematic.  I would like to understand more about the customer's board and issue.

    Can you also share the customer layout?  Would you be able to share the waveform of the input voltage, output voltage, and switch node when unloaded and loaded?
