TLV62090: About undershoot of SW pin

Part Number: TLV62090

Hello to whom it may concern,

I'm talking about SW voltage of TLV62090.
When our customer evaluateing EVM board, they have some questions.

It seems that it exceeds the absolute maximum rating at the evaluation result that they got.

Please check the attached file.
Could you please answer?

Best regards,

  • Hello Gk110,

it's a pleasure to support you!

I had a look at the waveforms in your pdf. The undershoot you usually l are due to the conduction of the Low side mosfet backdiode during the dead time. This behaviour is normal and intentional, because it avoids the cross-conduction between high and low side FETs.

For this purpose we specify AC and DC absmax values on the SW pin. AC refers to the switching regime while the DC refers to a constant voltage applied to the SW pin. So, you should refer to the AC specification for comparison.

Regarding your measurement, I can see you are using the right probe technique. Just a small note: for the grounding of the probe you should use the input or output cap grounding, since it is the one which value is the closest to the device's GND (reference value of the abs max voltage values).
