BQ27421-G1: bq27421-G1 / Compensate IR drop between bq27421-G1 and battery

Part Number: BQ27421-G1

Hi,

The customer consider bq27421-G1 to their application. In their application, they need to locate the gauge on the separated PCB from battery, then they'd like to know if bq27421-G1 has function to compensate IR drop between gauge and battery. I found Max IR Correct resister in TRM. Is this function used for this purpose?

Best Regards,

Satoshi / Japan Disty

  • hI Satoshi,

No, the MaxIR is not used for that purpose. That is used for initialization during the initial estimates of SOC incase there is current flowing upon battery insertion.

This gauge does not have trace and downstream resistance parameters like some of our other devices have that helps account for situations like this. The resistances will be learned in addition to the cells resistance.

    thanks

    Onyx
