TPS27081A: TPS27081A can't turn off the load switch

Part Number: TPS27081A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22917, TPS22918

Hi

TPS27081A Schematics shown as below:

I can't turn off the load switch. I repeated testing by mounting pulldown resistor in ON/OFF pin.

In the circuit, we did not using R2, C1 for the delay.

Please give some suggestion for this query.

Thanks

  • Hi Star,

Do you have any load on the output of the switch (VCC_SW_3V3)? This switch does not have any output pulldown circuitry when it is disabled, so turning off the switch means that the output will be left floating, not 0V. Without a load, C36 will be able to hold the output and you may still be able to measure a voltage.

For a more integrated solution, you may want to take a look at the TPS22918 (high performance) or TPS22917 (low leakage) depending on your needs. These devices are simple to use and have a quick output discharge (QOD) feature that pulls the output down to 0V when the switch is disabled.

    Thanks,
