Dear community,

I have a problem. I managed to access certain values through bq evaluation software in SBS mode but can not enter the Data Flash section. I always get the error Code = 5 when trying to read any data.

I have read that the bq30Z55 is a custom device and therefore everything is 'complicated'. Now what does that mean exaclty? Does it mean I have absolutely no chance to change anything at all? That would be quite annoying after I already purchased the battery cells with a higher capacity and the EV2300 after all...

Please help! What can I do now?

When I tried access through Battery Management Studio, it detected the device '550_0_36' if this is of any help.

Really hope someone can help me. I want to be able to use my new batteries.

What is the part number of the gauge you're working on? bq30z554-R1? bq30z55?

hi Florian,
bq30z55 is a custom device. The information about bq30z55 (that includes FW, tools) is only divulged under NDA.
If your project requires a device similar to bq30z55, I suggest you look at bq30z554-R1 (catalog device) on ti.com. Both bq30z554 and z55 are pin to pin device, except pin 16 is GPIO pin for Z554, but NC for Z55.
If your project has more flexibility, I recommend you look at bq40z50-R2 (catalog device, much more recent, more features).
