TPS63020: Enable

Part Number: TPS63020

Dear  All:

I used the tps63020 to design buck-boost circuit. I use the MCU to control the EN pin. but when i reset the mcu, and to configuration the GPIO register until   2 second  after the  MCU reset .

TPS63020  can't output, it looks like broken. what cause the problem? can you help solve this issue?

  • HI Xiao,

Could you be more precise in "can't output "? are the switches broken.. or what does it mean exactly?
there are chances that the device saw a high current or voltage during the reset of MCU leading to the device to get damages.

Could you capture the inductor current , input voltage and enable voltage during reset?
could you also share the layout?
  • Dear Sabrina:

Thanks for your reply, i think the switches broken,

if I configuration the GPIO register after the mcu reset instead of until 2 seconds after the MCU reset , the TPS63020 isn't broken.

the enable PIN voltage is always low during the MCU reset, and there is no load at present.
  • Hi Xiao,

I need more information to help debug further. I need to see how the layout looks like.

I also need to understand how the different signals behave during reset. It looks like something happens during reset, probably causing a high voltage or current causing the switches to damage.
Could you capture the inductor current , input voltage and enable voltage during reset?
