TPS3808: "Propagation Delay" and "High-to-low level RESET delay"

Part Number: TPS3808

Hi

My Customer has question.

1."Propagation Delay" is typ 150 ns, but is there a min / max value?

If not, how much margin should you take?

2."High-to-low level RESET delay" is typ 20us, but is there a min / max value?

If not, how much margin should you take?

Best Regard

  • T Kishi,

We do not provide the min/max values for those specs therefore we can't make any guarantees on the min/max spread. From my experience, the propagation delay is usually lower than 150ns for /MR to /RESET prop delay. From previous data I have taken, the prop delay from /MR to /RESET was approximately 70ns and prop delay from SENSE to /RESET was approximately 14us compared to the datasheet value of 20us. The /RESET ("low to high") delay time can be slightly higher or lower than the calculated value. The range from my previous data shows the RESET delay can be +/- 10% but I estimate that as the delay gets longer, the spread can get wider. We do not have a min/max spread but I estimate this can be +/- 40% depending on operating conditions. The propagation delays are much tighter than the /RESET delay due to the amount the delay capacitor can differ from the ideal value and/or change value over full operating conditions.

We can provide simulation data and/or bench data on a few devices if necessary.
