Hi,

I am using a BQ34z100-g1 with an 8s2p LiFePO4 batteries. I want to use the GPCCHEM tool to match the cell I am goin to use in my application.

I have read the guide to upload the archive and I have seen the required procedure is:

- Charge the battery using CC/CV with nominal values.

- Let the battery relax for 2 hours.

- Discharge the battery at C/10.

- Let the battery relax for 5 hours.

My doubt is if with LiFePO4 the relax times should be those or greater, due to the longer relaxing times of LiFePO4 batteries.

Hi Gorka,

You're absolutely correct - the relax times will increase for LFP cells. This rest period may take upwards of 48 hours.

Then, the required procedure for LiFePO4 batteries should be:

- Charge battery with CC/CV

- Let it relax for 48 hours.

- Discharge the battery at C/10.

- Let it relax for another 48h.

Is this procedure correct or do you recommend me another relaxing times?

Hi Gorka,

This should work. The time may be less for the battery at the charged state. If time of the essence, please look at the log to determine when the battery rests after full charge (should see the profile flatten and dip slightly).
