BQ25703A: bq25703A / Output capacitor

Hi,

From the description about output capacitor in DS, I understand that bq25703A can operate with stability with only ceramic output capacitor. However its EVM has tantalum polymer capacitor in addition to ceramic capacitor.

  1. Please let me know the reason you add this tantalum polymer capacitor on EVM
  2. Was the characteristic curve or waveform in DS taken with this tantalum polymer capacitor?

    1. All ceramic capacitors should be Ok. The tantalum polymer capacitor represents far end converters' input capacitors.
    2. Yes. The datasheet waveform should be taken from an EVM unless a special condition is claimed in the datasheet.
