BQ34Z100-G1: Testing led display in production

Hi,

We manufactured systems using the BQ34z100-G1 and now we need to test it. We would like to set the state of pin P1,2 in order to validate that this part of the system is working.

Is it possible to toggle these pin individually ?

From the datasheet (page 39) it seems possible : "Extended commands are available to turn the LEDs on and off for test purposes". But I couldn't find more information about it.

Did I miss something?

Hi Mickael,

You didn't miss anything, the extended commands for toggling LEDs are not listed in the datasheet. I'll hunt this down. In the meantime, the easiest way to test the LEDS to see if they are working is to configure the mode of LED operation as desired and then use a battery simulator (lab supply) in place of the battery and to sweep the voltage. The LEDS activate proportionally from 0-100%.

Thanks for the fast answer.

I read a bit about battery simulator, it could be a solution and I will need it in the next step. But to test the led I think it will be faster and easier to toggle the led via an I2C register.
