BQ76930: Is REGSRC mandatory to power the IC?

I am planning to have an external high efficiency regulator to supply the 3.3v output to REGOUT. Does this work ? As I understand REGSRC is only required to power the REGOUT through the in-chip LDO.

    Hi Eohan,
    REGOUT is a power output, not a power supply input. REGSRC is a power input pin and must be supplied within its recommended range for the part to work properly. REGSRC also powers the FET outputs and other internal circuitry.
