BQ25700A: BQ25700A charge termination current

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi TIer

My customer develop a POS machine (look like a big cell phone) and use 2 cell battery (8.7V).

They want to ask how to control CV termination current value because they want to stop charge current at 0.02C.

I only saw charge current can set and no description how the CC to CV mode change and CV charge done control method.

Is the termination current like cell phone charger be 1/10 of charge current?

Thanks for answer !

  • No extra command is needed to switching from CC to CV. bq25700A does the CC to CV mode smooth transition for you.
bq25700A doesn't detect the termination current and stop the charging. It is a slave charger. The host needs to sense or read termination current from gauge. And then, send command to bq25700A to stop charging. If the host controller doesn't send out stop charging command, bq25700A will keep in CV mode.
