BQ24450: Does this IC work for 6 cell lead acid battery?

I am designing a Wireless EV charger and after the rectifier I need a battery management circuit, so i wanted to buy one of BQ24450 and I had some question would appreciate if someone could help me.

1. has anyone used this IC with arduino to charge 12V lead acid batteries ? if yes then do i need to use I2C protocol. I saw in some websites that this IC is for 4 cell battery only so can i charge a 6 cell battery with it?

2. for 12V output how much input voltage i need for the IC, I mean does it boost the DC input or do i need an exact DC voltage at input for a certain output voltage?

The bq24450 has been used with 12V / 6 cell battery.
No I2C info.
Charging current planned for the battery, 1A to 2A?

uhh well the battery i am charging is 7.2Ah lead acid battery so i need around charging current below 1A maybe 700mA if follow the rule of thumb, but i meant does it matter how much voltage or current i am supplying the Bq24450 ? or does it only supply the current from the input to the battery with a reference voltage that will stop charging it once the battery voltage has surpassed that reference voltage? does any of what i said makes sense?

Hello
The bq24450 is a linear charger and voltage drop across the pass element will heat device. It can be managed by reducing input voltage or charge current.
