We got a question from the customer about UCC28704.
Could you help us?

According to a datasheet, this IC automatically varies the switching frequency and the current sense threshold to improve EMI performance. Could you tell us the detail of this function? Is this the same function of UCC28700 which has frequency-jitter scheme.

    Hello Tateo-san,

    The UCC28700 and UCC28704 are in the same family of PSR controllers with some differences.

    You are correct, the frequency dithering works by varying the current sense threshold, and the concept is the same in both devices.

    One difference is that in the UCC28700 the amount that the frequency dithers is fixed to a 7.5kHz whereas the UCC28704 scales with the frequency by +-7% of the current switching frequency.
