TLC59116: Standby current and how to enter Standby mode

Hi,

the TLC59116 touts low standby current but in looking at the data sheet, Icc seems to be in the 10's of mA, regardless of the state of the output (OUT0 - 15). How can I enter "standby" mode? Is it via the RESET pin? Can I put the device in "standby" via I2C as well? What is Icc when the device is in "standby"?

Hi Sal,
TLC59116 has serval mA IQ even in the standby mode.
The only solution is to cut off power supply with power switch.

Hi Summer,
section 9.4.2 in the data sheet states that "standby mode" occurs when all output channels are disabled. Standby mode may be entered via I2C command or by pulling the RESET pin low. Are you saying that in this mode, Iq will still be several mA? Do you have a hard and fast number for what the Iq will be when RESET is pulled low?

Hi Sal,

The main comsuption current from device to RSET, it has several mA and it can’t disable.

Hi Koji-san,

Standby mode can save 4 mA comparing the below supply current, you can subtract around 4mA from the below. Thanks!

The characteristics is typical value, ICC in the electrical characteristics is max value in whole temperature for all the MP device.
