bq51050B: Minimal charging current

Part Number: BQ51050B

Support Path: /Product/Development and troubleshooting/

Hi,
we want to integrate the bq51050B wireless charger into our product, but we have doubts about the minimum charging current. According to the datasheet, the minimum output current is 500 mA, but according to the TIDA-00329 Test Report <www.ti.com/.../tidu576a.pdf>, a lower current can also be set. What is the minimum charging current value?

Thanks

Datasheet:

test_report:

  • Hello
Unit can charge at lower currents but the termination current will be less accurate. For the specification table to be correct the min charging current is limited to 500mA. Recommend keeping fast charge current above 100mA and termination current above 30mA.
Also see wireless power forum several post discuss charging at lower currents.
