TPS61081: How to estimate whether the chip has broken?

Hi, everyone:

I test my backlight circuit base on TPS61081. It do not work since I do some welding on it. Maybe it has been broken due to short circuit caused by the soldering tin.

I clean it and take a picture by X-Ray:

Well, I want to know how to estimate whether the chip has broken?

This is really hard to tell just by the info in your post. The simplest way is to replace with a new IC and solder carefully and inspect for any solder bridge or debris before powering up. If it is still not work, it may be owing to your circuit board problem.

Hi, Youhao:

Is there any possibility to demage the chip If soldering tin connect PIN 'OUT' with PIN 'PGND'?

It 's hard to replace the chip because of the footprint. So I want to analyze it clearly first.

Yes it can damage the part: OUT short to GND will create a short circuit from input through the inductor and internal diode and there is no current limit to prevent damage.
