EV2400: EV2400 USB Drivers

Hi,

We have an BQ29441EVM-G1A and the EV2400.

I simply can’t make the USB work. When I plug the device and look under DEVICE MANAGER it never comes up under UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS.

I have read the forums, seems like lots of similar issues but none of the ideas helped:

- Installed EV2400_Support_Components_20110524.exe

- Installed BatteryManagementStudio-1.3.54.1_Build1-windows-installer

- Rebooted

- Changed cables

- Pressed button

- Re-installed everything

I am out of ideas?

My system is 64bit Windows 7 Professional.

Hi Aaron,
Have you tried a different computer? When you plug in ev2400, it is supposed to self install. I would recommend using a different computer to see if this occurs. I have seen a similar behavior once with a different customer and the feedback was that it worked on a different computer other than his but we were never able to figure out what was wrong with his own computer

Hi Onyx,

I have tried two computers with no luck. The USB just is not recognized on either them.

Reading the support forum, there seems to be lots of people with this issue and there is no resolution except to try more computers. I am out of computers.

We are $500 into this evaluation kit with nothing to show for it. Not sure what to do except move on to a different product.

Hi Onyx,

I think we are just going to hold off on doing anymore work with this eval kit for now. It is probably overkill for the type of monitoring we need to do anyway. I will contact you if we are going to try to get it to work again.
