LM27762: operating mode change internally on light loads, output ripple

Part Number: LM27762

Am using this IC for developing -2V and +2V from a supply voltage of 3.3V in my circuit. my load on both outputs are less than 10mA. But still am seeing a mode change in the circuit from pulse skipping mode to burst mode. this mode change introducing ripple in my output voltage as well as in 3.3V supply voltage also.

1. is there any option to restrict the mode change in IC (as per datasheet if the load is less than 40mA the IC should work in pulse skipping mode).

2. How can I eliminate the ripple.

Looking forward to your earlier response.

  • Hi Simith,

Are you testing on your own board or on the EVM? Can you share waveforms of what you have measured?

I recommend testing on the EVM to get a known good PCB layout and BOM.

There is no way to disable the light load mode, without increasing the load current. This can easily be done by adding a resistor to GND on each output.
