TPS53681: May we have TPS53681 GUI Instructions document?

Part Number: TPS53681

Hi Sir

May we have TPS53681 GUI  Instructions document?

a lot of set up we don't know how to set and why need set up it?

for example, why we need set margin high? margin low?

what kind parameter we must to set up? what parameter we can ignore?

  • Hi Chen,

There is no specific guide to using the TPS53681 in the Fusion GUI. However, a general overview and basic use cases can be found under the Help menu on the top of the screen. Click the first option, "Document_Help_Center," to bring up the screen below and download the Fusion user guide or other documents.

To get started I would recommend only changing the boot voltage, VOUT, max current, and OCP settings. Depending on what voltage you're testing at, the OVP and UVP settings may also need to be adjusted.

The margining feature you asked about allows for fixed output voltage adjustments independent of the VOUT command. For example, setting a 0.25V margin voltage will adjust VOUT high or low by that amount from the VOUT set voltage. Some CPUs and ASICs don't need a full VID table and this allows them to avoid storing the table on whatever is communicating with the TPS53681 but still be able to adjust VOUT in a limited fashion. If you're CPU doesn't use margining, then you won't deal with those registers.

As for more in depth options regarding the TPS53681, for basic evaluation you can leave most of the them untouched and simply use the part defaults. As you evaluate the controller searching the datasheet for a specific parameter would tell you more about it and what configuration options are available. After reading the relevant section you could then decide what is right for this application.

    Thanks,

    Carmen
