BQ78Z100: BQ78Z100 doesn't work with bqStudio

To whom that may concern:

We are using bqStudio to program the bq78z100 IC. bqStudio version 1.3.54.1, and bq78z100 version is 04. And the SREC file from TI website is 05. We have two questions:

1. bqStudio can't recognize the fuel gauge IC. Where can we find the newest bqz file to make it work?

2. Our bq78z100 IC is version 04, so can we use the 05 SREC file on this chip? If not, where can we find the 04 version SREC?

Hi Chen,

You should find both the bqz and the fw for v0.05 in the link here, . Please extract the zip file and run the installer. This will give you both the srec and the bqz.

Hello Batt:

Thanks for your answer! It does contain the 05 version bqz file, and that solves half of our issues. My other question is, as we are use the 04 version chips, can we use 05 version software/development tools directly?

Chen,

Please give me a day to check if there have been any changes to the dataflash. If there aren't then you can use the old file.
