BQ24075: I see the current through the battery but it doesn't charge

Hello,

I have an issue with the part BQ24075. I connect an external charger to charge my battery lipo and i can see -450mA through the battery, which mean it's charging. All work fine, but the voltage of the battery doesn't change when it's charging. I tried with different battery but it's always the same.

Do you have an idea why i can see a good negative current through the battery but the voltage doesn't change? i have no load on the output.

Check that the input current to the system and current going to the battery are about the same (450mA) and nothing is getting hot.
How large is the battery you are testing?

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your respond, my input current is the same as the battery current, and nothing is hot. My battery capacity is 2000mAh and i charge the battery at 450mA.

This is a challenging situation.
Does the current remain constant to battery? I have seen situations where at lower battery voltage (3.0V) the charging current will be OK but current decreases as voltage rises (3.8V).

What voltage does the battery increase to?
