TPS63000: Capacitor between VINA and GND

Part Number: TPS63000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63030

Hi,

Colud you tell me about the value of capacitor between VINA and GND.
Looking at Figure 2 on the data sheet P.10, a 0.1μF capacitor is connected between VINA and GND.
I understand that it is a capacitor for high-frequency noise countermeasures,
but if you look at Japanese translated version it is listed that it should not exceed 0.22uF.
Please tell me the background that max of this capacitor value is written.

Best Regards,
Yuto Sakai

  • Hi,

I am sorry, the device which describes the value of the capacitor between VINA and GND is TPS63030.
In 9.2.2.3.2 Bypass Capacitor of Data Sheet P. 12,
"The value of this capacitor should not be higher than 0.22 μF. "is written.
I would like to know the reasons for this statement.

  • Hi,

The design does not support bigger capacitors. the internal control circuitry in supplied from VINA if the capacitor is too big, it slows down the system and cause trouble during start up for example
