bq24618: Setting Adapter Current Regulation for a 10A charger

Hi, I'm using this part to make a 10A charger. In the datasheet it says "up to 10A Charge current and Adapter Current". Should I set the resistors for ACSET and ISET1 to limit the Adapter input and Charge Current to 10A? Or can/ should I set the resistors for the ACSET to the actual limit of the AC adapter (10.7A) and set the charge current to 10A?

depends on your input FET thermal rating, you can set it to 10.7A.

Thanks for the reply, Jing. So does that mean if I get some hardier FETs and decrease the Sense resistor I can exceed the 10A limit? and if so, by how much?

We do not recommended to exceed 10A as specified on the datasheet. This is a buck topology charger, typically the input current is <10A for 10A charge current.

In my design I'm using a 9mOhm resistor is this okay?
