BQ27441-G1: How to use BQ27441-G1B

Part Number: BQ27441-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400, GPCCHEM

Dears,

1、I am not know about the design procedure of Gauging, I was designed with BQ27441-G1B,but the value of Battery Capacity I readed was not equal to actual Battery Capacity. so if it need to configuration some parameters first or test some data(such as the battery charge/discharge parameter) ;

Question : what is design procedure of Ti's Gauging Chip ?  Step 1,Step 2, .....

2、I find some Ti's web have one software BQstudio,it seems that designer should use BQstudio to export .ZIP(includes Configuration file and Data log file), then submit .ZIP to GPC through website,and then Ti will send me the Chemical ID to me by mail.

Question A:How to generate the .ZIP data? need to connect with EV2400/EV2300 between my PC and my BQ27441 board ? if yes,then what parameters needed to configurate in BQstudio ?

Question B:what is the function of Chemical ID in my design ? and then what I need to do to complete my design after I get this ID,

Waiting for your answer

Thanks

  • Hi,

    The Gpcchem has instructions on the process to identify the best chem id match for your cell. Given that you are using a ROM based gauge, you need there are only specific 3 hardcoded chem ids that you can use with this gauge. The gpcchem tool will tell you how much of a close match these default chem ids are to your cell after you have run the test.

    - There is a quick start guide for this device that will direct you on the process to get up and running.

    thanks
