TPS659039-Q1: How OTP is programmed?

Part Number: TPS659039-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA2SG

TPS659039-Q1 is used in our ADAS system, working together with TDA2SG. It is noticed that there is internal OTP(one time Programming) controller and register to control the power up and power down sequence.

How the OTP info is programmed in? is it pre-programmed by TI when we order it? or should it be done by customer. If it is done by ourself, how should it be programmed and which interface should be used?

  • Hi Jianming,

The OTP is programmed by TI during final test, so you do not need to program it yourself. Since it is one-time programmable, it can't be changed after it leaves the TI factory.

You can refer to the TPS659039-Q1 user's guide for information about the pre-programmed settings.

  • Hi, Karl, Thanks for your reply, it is really helpful.
To be clarify, we need to provide the preferred register setting before we make the order, right?
From a existing TI Reference board, such as TDA2SG EVM, can we ready out those register setting directly?
    Thanks

  • Jianming,

The TPS659039 device used in the TDA2x EVM is the O9039A387IZWSRQ1. This will support the same schematic configuration as the TDA2x EVM and already has the proper sequencing for power up and power down.

For more about how to use the TPS659039-Q1 device with the TDA2x processors, check out this user guide: www.ti.com/.../swcu175

Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
