BQ21040: Charging indication is not proper

Part Number: BQ21040

Hi  Team

Please refer to below schematic.

If  I  Plug-IN and Plug Out input power CHG pin behavior is proper

but it is not going low even though only  2mA current is flowing into the battery. I checked this behavior by removing system load even.

Please  explain this?  I  want  to  use   CHG   ping as an indication of  charging and  fully  charged.

  • Hello

The charge current is low and termination current is low, 52mA and 5.2mA.  But K-set at this current can be as low as 340, this would put charge current at 34ma and termination 3.4mA.

This is not 2mA but does point out that the termination currents will be low, any system noise could be a problem.  Also test set up accuracy in measurement of the battery current will be needed.
