UCC28910: Use as a Constant current sink for a relay coil possible

Hi TI-Team,

would it be possible to use the UCC28910 in a very simple offline Setup as shown below?

My aim is to regulate the current through the coil at about 300mA. The shunt shouldn't be bigger than 3-5Ohms, because the resistance of the coil is about 35Ohms.

So, would it be possible to use this IC for that purpose?

Dear Thomas,

Thanks for using TI's solution in your design.
UCC28910 have integrated MOSFET in the IC, so M1 is not necessary if you choose this IC.

So the feedback voltage will be rectifier output and use resistor to set up the feedback voltage right?
I think the idea of your circuit is quite simple, it should work.

So, how would a possible circuit look like? Especially VDD? i mean, there is no secondary winding to power VDD pin.

Dear Thomas,

You can add a transformer to provide the VDD voltage, also provide the signal for Vs pin.
