In reading the data sheet for the fuel gauge part b134z100-G1 it is not clear if the msb or the lsb of the sub command is sent first.

Is writing 0x00, 0x41 and 0x00 to the device the correct sequence to write to perform device reset?

Or should it be 0x00,0x00, 0x41?

Hi Roger,
You swap the bytes and write 0x41 to register address 0x00 and write 0x00 to register address 0x01.
So using your example you would write 0x00, 0x41 and 0x00.

Hi - Thanks for your response and sorry for the late reply.
I am not sure that I fully appreciated the I2C interface commands when I submitted my original question.

am I allowed to do the following?

My Chip BQ34z100
start
addr 1010101
write 0
ack 0
Command 00H
ack 0
Reset(first byte) 41H
ack 0
Reset (2nd byte) 00H
ack 0
stop

Or do I need to send each command as separately?

I am looking at legacy code and the first one (incremental writes) is used.
When I look at Figure 11 of www.ti.com/.../bq34z100-g1.pdf
This is showing that incremental writes are not permitted.
I am I just reading the spec incorrectly? Are incremental writes permitted?
