TPS7A45: Short Protection

Hi

My custome has question.

When the output of TPS7A4501(adjustable) is shorted to GND Is there data on the output voltage behavior, waveform etc?

I also want the data when SHDN pin is connected to VIN.

    Hi T,

    if the output voltage is shorted to GND then the output voltage is 0V, of course.

    Have a look at figure 20 of datasheet to see how the maximum output current depends on differential voltage between input and output.

    When the current limit becomes active the regulator is no longer in regulation and the output voltage drops in order to decrease the output current. It depends on the load how much the output voltage drops.

    Hi ,

    As  mentions since Vout is tied to GND we only have Iout to monitor as long as the power supply for Vin has a higher current limit than the TPS7A45.  Figure 20 has been copied here for your convenience.
