LM5050-1: LM5050-1 : Why we need to clamp Vsd at 22mV when current is low?

Dear expert,

My customer has a question on LM5050-1. When load current is low, LM5050-1 will clamp Vsd on 22mV. Do we have a reason that LM5050-1 will clamp Vsd=22mV when load current is low? Thanks a lot!!

Hi Ann,

When the load current is low, the GATE pin voltage is controlled and decreased to maintain 22mV across the MOSFET. The circuit architecture is designed such a way to assist fast and smooth transition between the sources in a parallel-connected redundant power supply system.
