I am using the bq40z50-r1.I want to know what's the meaning of the "Turbo boost"?

How to set this function ? I set the IT Gauging "55F6".Is it related to the "Turbo boost"?

Hi Sheng,

It seems that turbo boost is related to the charger nothing to do with the gauge. Can you tell me what register you are referring to when you say IT Gauging?

Dear Sir:

I met some problems with this chip.I set the design resistance "52mOhm",set the pack resistance"30 mOhm",the system resistance"50 mOhm".But they changed in the using.

For example, the system resistance changed to be a large number "23307mOhm".Then the Remaining Capacity will become 0mAh.

I want to know why these parameters changed?

Hi Sheng,

Your design resistance is a value that is calculated by the impedance track algorithm during dsg. However for using turbo mode, you will need to carefully calculate the pack resistance, interconnect resistance and the system resistance. These values are manually entered prior to testing it. Once you have these values, please run a cycle where you learn the capacity of the battery (from fully dsg to fully chg) and then a dsg cycle where you learn the resistance profile. Once those have been calculated by the gauge, further cycles will accurately track the turbo mode current and power.
