Dear all,
I want to use the BQ25890 in a circuit because of its great attributes, but there's one thing I'm still curious about. Looking at the datasheet, page 24 talks about output voltage regulation:
As far as I understand, this means the BQ25890 has to boost the battery's voltage to 3.5V when it's below the minimum threshold voltage.
The charger circuit has to power a MCU which draws ~1uA all the time. With this configuration in mind, will the BQ25890 recognize the load correctly and supply such small currents? I'm wondering because page 10 lists two obscuring attributes named "Battery discharge load current" and "System discharge load current". And if it does, how efficient is the boost converter when the battery's voltage is at e.g. 3V? Or is it better to power the MCU from a coin cell until the rest of the circuit draws 1A continuously?
Thanks in advance for your support.
Regards,
Alex
