TPS22860: Through hole for Cout and pulldown resistor

Part Number: TPS22860
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22917, TPS22810

I am designing a circuit where I am using TPS22860 for switching some sensors ON-OFF. In the PCB, I am leaving through holes for COUT capacitor and a pulldown resistor at VON so that I can put these components later while I am selecting those sensors. Is this approach alright or someting is wrong in my approach?

  • Hi Neeraj,

Through hole components on the output or ON pin should not should not have any negative effect on the device since these pins are not very sensitive to parasitics.

Also, have you taken a look at the TPS22917? It is a very low leakage load switch, but an internal pull down resistance is integrated into the ON pin of the device. On top of that, the performance of this switch is higher than the TPS22810.

    Thanks,
