LM2623: Boost regulator

Hi,

Our requirement is to generate 10v (200mA-500mA) output with 1- 1.5 volt (500mA) Input. Is it possible to generate this voltage range by using LM2623 ?

Hi Shammi,

LM2623 has a switch peak current limit 2.85A(typ). When vo is 10V@500mA, the input current is higher than the current limit value. And also lm2623 has a 1.1V startup voltage. I don't understand why you say the input current is 500mA?

Hi Zack,

In the data sheet the recommended operating voltage mention is minimum 3V. That is the reason we raised this question.

our requirement is INPUT;1.1-1.5V and OUTPUT;10V. Is it Possible ?

Hi Shammi,

VDD is the power supply for internal circuitry and it's range is 3-5V. What's the load current at 10V?

I have Vin 1.1V-1.5V, need to generate 10v. Is this can be done by this IC ?

Hi Shammi,

It depends on the output current. When the load current is small and will not trip the current limit, it can generate 10V. So I'm asking you the load current of output.
On your first post, you said the output current is 500mA, and the input is 1-1.5V(500mA). The boost converter input current will be much higher than output current.

Hi shammi,

LM2623 is not suitable. Vo is 10V@0.75A and Vin is 1.1V, the input current will be up to 8A. What's this application be used for? The input is only one 1.5V battery?

Hi zack,

Solor panel(6Volt 5W output) is connected to VIN, and our vo requirement is 10V@ upto 0.75A.

Hi Shammi,

If the solor panel output voltage is 6Volt, LM2623 is able to generate a 10V @ 0.75A. You mean the minimum voltage of solor panel is 1.1V? I don't understand why you said the input range is 1.1-1.5V?

Hi Zack,

currently we have used TPS61089RNRR in our design. After connecting solar panel with our board, under direct sunlight we are getting 5-5.8V,
and under low sunlight condition voltage is around 1.5v.

Hi shammi,

TPS61089 is a good choice. Is there any possibility to have an external 3.3V on your board? If so, use external 3.3V and connect the 3.3V to VIN pin as the power supply of IC.
