TPS62067: Tie PG to GND

Part Number: TPS62067
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62065, TPS62097, TPS62822

Hi Team,

Can the PG pin of the TPS62067 be tied to ground? From my understanding tying an open drain output to ground should not damage the device.

My customer does not need the PG features, and I need to verify that the TPS62065 and TPS62067 are drop in replacements.

Regards, Diego

  • Hi Diego,

Yes, they can GND (or float) PG if not used.

However, this is quite an old device now. The TPS62097 has higher efficiency and more features, in the same size IC. If forced PWM mode is not needed, the TPS62822 has higher efficiency in a smaller package.
