BQ24195L: Battery management and Battery level or status indicator

Hi All,

I am currently using BQ24195L in my product design with a Li Ion polymer battery that's powering up my device together with CC1310 as the MCU. The I2C is connected between BQ24195L and CC1310. I'm currently having a problem to detect and indicate the battery level (low level warning)  that is attached to BQ24195L. Is there any Registry indicator or status from the BQ24195L that can be used to report the battery level from BQ24195L to CC1310 using the I2C communication.

Any comment or recommendation is highly appreciated.

    Hi,

    The bq24195L provides no direct reporting of battery level. However, you could write host software to periodically change the MINSYS voltage (REG0x01) from default of 3.5V to lower values down to 3.0V and then read the MINSYS status (REG0x08).

    Alternatively, you could change to the bq25895 which has integrated ADC that reads battery voltage as well as a few other values. It has same pin out except for one pin.
