LM5026: over shooting on output when start up

Part Number: LM5026

Dear,

For the LM5026 when the start, there is a very high voltage over shooting on the Clamp Cap, which causes the output voltage spike also when start up.

Do you think that can be eliminated by any soft start method?

Is there any calculation fomular of it or any app note ?

Thanks.

  • Hello Cheng,

Normally making the soft-start time slower you can eliminate the risk of any potential overshoot. I would like to know the current value of your SS cap.

The LM5026 datasheet has equation 10 that will help you to calculate the SS time based on the value of your CSS once you have established that you can then calculate Css for a smaller tss.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,

    Sonal
