Want the boost up circuit

We have a device of specifications 60 watts , 12 V Dc , 5 to 6.67 Amp. To run this device we are developing a powerpack for it. We have selected 11.7 Volt 7 Amp Lion Battery. So please provide the boost up circuit for that. if possible with charging circuit with short circuit protection facility.

We are using the Lion batteries because of the these batteries are light weight, but Lion are explosive. So according to this please provide solutions. (Devices are Medical devices)

  • What is the input source voltage range do you want to charge the battery? Can the input source drive that 60W, 12V device directly.

    If that input source cannot drive the device directly, you may need to select two devices:

    One for charging the battery: if the input source voltage could be higher or lower than the battery voltage, I would recommend buck boost charger bq25703A. If the input source voltage is always higher than the battery voltage. You can select a lot of buck charger, such as: bq24610, bq24725A...

    Another for converting the battery voltage to 12V to support the 60W device. I would recommend bq25703A which can run OTG mode to have 12V/6A output on VBUS.

  • Battery specifications are 11.1v 7.8 Amp, load on the battery is of the device of specifications 12 v dc, 5 to 6.67 Amp, 60 watt power consumption. So to boost and mantain the voltage level and current level 12 v , 5 amp neec boost circuit.

  • Thanks. This battery is 3S 3P , 11.1 volt 7.8 Amp. for this will you please provide the charging circuit? Input will be 12 V DC or as per standard. This battery pack already have a BMS circuit so want just charging circuit with automatic cutoff after full charge and gives indication.
