TPS25942A: About IEC60127

Hi,

Customer is aiming to IEC60127 acquisition of customer application.
With that background, I received the following question.

Is TPS25942A recognized by IEC60127?
Or has TPS25942A acquired test data on IEC60127?

    Hi Yusuke-san,

    What is the end product?
    IEC60127 covers only conventional fuses and it is not applicable for solid state over current protectors (eFuses).
    eFuses are recognized by UL as per safety standard UL2367.

    End product is media station for camcorder(media server).
    I understood about IEC60127.

    Customer wants to acquire IEC62368-1 as application.
    Do you have test data useful to obtain IEC62368-1?
    Or Is UL2367 useful for obtaining IEC62368-1?
    ((Customer makes a transition from IEC60950 to IEC62368-1))

    Hi Yusuke-san,

    Thanks for the details.

    IEC62368-1 is the next generation standard for IEC60950.
    From the eFuse (solid state over current protectors) point of view, so far, there is no change in test method/evaluation at UL. The devices already certified with IEC 60950-1, 2nd Edition, +AM1 +AM2 are eligible to get certified under IEC 62368-1, 2nd Edition without testing.

    TPS25942A is certified to IEC 60950-1, 2nd. Edition, +AM1 +AM2. This will be useful to obtain IEC62368-1.
