UCD3138: Questions about the UCD3138HSFBEVM_029 firmware

I downloaded the UCD3138HSFBEVM_029 firmware on your website and opened the project file in CCS.

In the project explorer I saw a lot of files, Includes, Device, Driver, UCD3138 folders and a dozen header files and source files.

I know that if you modify the firmware, it is mainly to modify the dozens of source files and header files,

but I don't know what the roles of Includes, Device, Driver, and UCD3138 folders are. Do I need to modify them?

No, you do not have to modify anything.
Modify only the parts that you understand their functionality and you want them to act different than the way we set those up.

Device contains files that are unique to specific member of UCD3138 family of products.
Each device is slightly different. So it needs a slightly different header files and linker files.

Driver contains driver for specific peripheral, for example PMBus. This is an attempt to have a hirarchy and structure in the project and not to place all files together in the same folder.

Project explorer has a UCD3138 folder containing a Device folder and a Driver folder, as well as some asm files.
I don't know what this UCD3138 folder feature is?

These are folders are generated by the CCS(Compiler) for placing files that are generated during compilation.

This includes .obj, .asm, .lst, .mkand .pp files and more.

In a very typical project you will have a debug and a .release folder only.

But since this project has many configurations to support multiple devices of UCD3138 family, we need more folder for placing these device specific files.

This hirarchy enables isolation of the files that are unique for supporting certain configuration, and also does not generate the files in the main folder, so they do not get mixed with the .C files.
